Original Norwegian sweater MARIUS®
The MARIUS sweater is a term among Norwegian sweaters. The most used Norwegian design comes from the workshop of designer Unn Soiland from the 1950s. He gained fame thanks to the film Troll i ord and actor Marius Eriksen. The sweater knitted from 100% Norwegian wool is manufactured under the original license at the Rauma Ullvarefabrikk factory on the west coast of Norway in Andalsnes. In recent years, however, the license has been extended to include Marius Kids, underwear, jackets and a number of souvenirs.
However, the Marius pattern is also popular due to Norway's interest in knitting according to the instructions. Marius is still published in the "strikkepakke" version, ie a package of wool, needles and instructions, so that everyone can knit their Marius sweater at home.
